1 Rosa rugosa North Kona at Koloko Dr Growing on a roadside in the open, sometimes with a canopy of M. polymorpha and A. koa. Area abuts native-dominated montane, subalpine mesic forest. Ass veg: P. capitata, H. lanatus, P. clandestinum. Preserved_Specimen Over 60 individuals and 20 of those were fruiting. Shrub 1 ft tall some 3 ft, suckering stems, dense prickers cover stems, mostly erect. Lvs alt, serrated leaflets. Flws bright pink. Numerous yellow stamens and lightly scented.
